FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS: PHOENIX ADVANCE WITH 58-14 WIN

It’s on to the Class 9AA quarterfinals for the Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy football, team which upended De Smet 58-14 Thursday night, Oct. 24 in Freeman. The No. 5 seed Phoenix built a 22-0 lead in the first quarter over the No. 12 Bulldogs and remained in control of the game despite giving up a touchdown in the second and third quarter.

F/M/FA will travel to No. 4 Hill City next Thursday night with a trip to the semifinals on the line. Game time has not yet been set. The Rangers are ranked No. 5 in Class 9AA and are 8-1 after defeating Bon Homme 41-20 Thursday night.
