SECOND-SEED PARKSTON TOO MUCH FOR FLYERS

It was a relatively quick and easy 3-0 win for second-seed Parkston, which took down sixth-seed Freeman Public in the third and final round of the Region 4B Volleyball Tournament in Parkston Thursday night, Nov. 7. The Trojans won 25-19, 25-14, 25-23 to advance to next week’s SoDak 16; the Flyers finish the season 12-17.

Parkston, which is playing in Class B after spending years at the Class A level, goes into the SoDak 16 with a 21-12 mark.

Gayville-Volin, the No. 1 seed, is the other representative from Region 4B advancing to the SoDak 16. The Raiders are 28-4 after beating Tripp-Delmont/Armour 3-1 Thursday night.
