Metha I. Wildermuth, 95

Metha I. Wildermuth was born July 16, 1929 in Freeman, S.D. to Karl and Sophia (Ulmer) Koerner. She was baptized as a child of God on Aug. 5, 1928 and confirmed her faith in her loving Savior on March 28, 1942. Metha had four brothers and three sisters.

After high school, Metha was united in marriage with Devine Wildermuth on Dec. 17, 1946. Devine spent his career in the United States Army, traveling around the world 26 years. Together they had three children (two sons and a daughter). When Devine retired from the military, the couple moved back to Freeman, S.D., where they revived and managed the local V.F.W. Devine passed away in 1993.

Metha moved to Norfolk, Neb., to be closer to family. She could often be found watching her grandchildren participate in extracurricular activities, listening to baseball on the radio, or sewing quilts for those she loved. Metha enjoyed gardening, flowers, finding the best in people and being outgoing.

Metha is survived by her son Tom (Connie) Wildermuth and their two children, Ryan (Dawn) Wildermuth and Lindsey (Eric) Coulter; son Jerry Wildermuth; and daughter Lori (Matt) Coulter and their two children Lacy (Levi) Stange and John (Kristin) Colvey; great-grandchildren Kalyn, Tomas, Madisen, Lance, Lakin, Lillian, Lydia and Scarlet “Starla.”

Metha Wildermuth was called by Jesus to dwell in the house of the Lord forever on Oct. 26, 2024.
