TSCHETTER PICKS UP CAREER WIN NO. 100

Freshman is 20-4 this season and ranked No. 6 in Class B at 144

JEREMY WALTNER –  PUBLISHER

It wasn’t just another win for Freeman High School’s Easton Tschetter at the Bon Homme Triangular last Thursday, Jan. 9.

It was his 100th.

The freshman reached the milestone with a dominating win over Chevy Francis of Elk Point-Jefferson — a pin at 1:12. Tschetter, who is this week ranked No. 6 in Class B at 144 lbs., is 20-4 on the season, with losses coming to the No. 1-, No. 2- and No. 5-ranked wrestlers. He most recently won in his weight division at the Jesse James Invitational hosted by Garretson Saturday, Jan. 11. In addition to Tschetter, Marion-Freeman saw a runner-up finish from sophomore Logun Pankratz at 126 lbs. and a fourth-place finish from eighth grader Josh Olesen at 106 lbs.

Tschetter finish eighth as an eighth grader competing at the 2024 South Dakota High School Activities Association Wrestling Championships at 120 lbs. Pankratz also represented the Rebels last season at state.
