FLYERS WIN AGAIN, SO DO SM GIRLS; TUESDAY NIGHT SCORES

The Freeman High School girls moved to 13-3 with a 55-28 win over Hanson (5-12) while the boys improved to 12-3 with a 76-55 victory over the Beavers (10-6) in doubleheader action in Freeman Tuesday night.

Rylee Peters had 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Cadence Hofer had 15 points and three assists to lead the Freeman girls.

For the Flyer boys, Tate Sorensen had 28 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals; David Walter scored 21 points and had nine rebounds; and Luke Peters added 11 points and three assists.

Also Tuesday, the Scotland/Menno girls won another close one, this time 45-43 over Canistota (4-11) in Scotland. It was the Trappers’ third win in a row and moves them to 6-10 on the season.

Trinity Bietz led the way for Scotland/Menno with 16 points, eight rebounds and six steals, while Lexie McNinch added eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.

In other action:

  • The Freeman Academy/Marion girls (3-12) lost to Gayville-Volin (13-3) 67-50.
  • The Freeman Academy/Marion boys (4-10) lost to Gayville-Volin (10-5) 56-38.
