Freeman Academy senior Sieta Wiersema blocks a shot on the post in basketball action Tuesday night, Feb. 18 as Freeman Academy/Marion hosted Alcester-Hudson in a doubleheader with the boys. In addition to her strong play down low, Wiersema led the team with nine points in what was a 52-31 loss to the Cubs. The girls close out their regular season Thursday night against Scotland/Menno; that game will be played at Sterling Hall in Freeman.

In other games Tuesday night, the FA/Marion boys gave Alcester-Hudson a run but ended up on the short end of a 75-73 score.

Scotland/Menno’s girls and boys both lost to Viborg-Hurley while the Freeman Public boys defeated Ethan.
