FAM BOYS LOSE BIG IN REGION 4B OPENING ROUND

The Freeman Academy/Marion boys fell behind 12-0 and never recovered in the opening round of the Region 4B Tournament, dropping a 68-47 game to Irene-Wakonda in Irene Monday night, Feb. 3.

The Eagles, the No. 8 seed, improved to 9-12 and will face top-seed Viborg-Hurley in the second round. The Bearcats, the No. 9 seed, finish the season 6-15.

Karter Weber had 13 points and Elshadai Mesfin went for 12 to lead FAM.
