Wachs Arena at the Barnett Center on the campus of Northern State University — pictured during Freeman’s one-hour practice session from 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday — will be alive with electricity beginning today as the 2025 State ‘B’ Boys Basketball Tournament begins.
Action tips off at noon with No. 1 Castlewood facing No. 8 Lyman., and No. 4 Wessington Springs will face No. 5 Wall to close out the first session at 1:45 p.m.
The evening session begins at 6 p.m. with No. 2 Dell Rapids St. Mary facing No. 7 Aberdeen Christian, and No. 3 Viborg-Hurley and No. 6 Freeman will square off in the nightcap scheduled to start at 7:45 p.m.
Aberdeen has been home to the State Bs every year since 1992 with the exception of 1994, and the Flyers have played at the Barnett Center twice before — in 1997 and 1999.
