A celebration of life service will be held at Hutterthal Mennonite Church, Freeman, on April 12 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Randall Koehler officiating. Her burial service will be prior to the service across the road to the east of the church at the HMC Cemetery. Walter Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements.

Sherryl was born in Mountain Lake, Minn,, to John T. and Margaret (Peters) Fast on Dec. 25, 1948. She attended Mountain Lake Christian Grade School and graduated from Mountain Lake High School in 1967. Sherryl worked as a clerk at Ben Franklin, a seamstress at Alvina’s Draperies, and a clerk at Jamboree Foods. At church, Sherryl served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and congregational ministries volunteer. In the Freeman community later in her life, Sherryl also volunteered weekly at the Et Cetera Shoppe of Freeman on Tuesdays and delivered Meals on Wheels on Wednesdays.

Some of her many hobbies included reading, knitting, cross-stitching, attending Corvette rallies, frequenting the annual Nebraska Junk Jaunt, vacationing with family in numerous places, traveling for family reunions, planting flowers, and baking, which was Donovan, Denise, and Eric’s favorite hobby because of its tasty results.
