PHOTO OF THE DAY: DALLAS BRASS DAZZLES
Showmanship was aplenty inside the Marion High School gym Wednesday night as Dallas Brass, a world-renowned ensemble, took an enthusiastic audience through “An American Journey” in music. The 90-minute concert concluded a day in which the group — led by founder and artistic director Michael Levine — met with middle school and high school band students from six schools for a workshop designed to instill in them an appreciation for music. The students then joined Dallas Brass for two numbers: a selection from John Williams’ Star Wars score and a medley of patriotic music. The concert offered the audience an affordable ticket price thanks to sponsorship support that included a generous donation from NuGen Energy.
