PHOTO OF THE DAY: GAME TIME (POSTPONED!)
The Freeman/Canistota/Marion Sticks and the Scotland/Menno Trappers have both cracked the top four in Region 1 and will take part in the region tournament tomorrow — Wednesday, May 21 — in Parkston. The tournament was originally scheduled for today but postponed because of the wet weather.
The Sticks will face Dakota Valley at 3 p.m. followed by the Trappers against Parkston. The winners of those two games will face each other tomorrow night at approximately 7 p.m. for a spot in the South Dakota High School Baseball Association’s state tournament May 26 and 27 in Brookings.
The Sticks go into the game 7-4; they lost to Dakota Valley 8-4 during the regular season. The Panthers have an 8-4 record.
The Trappers head into play today with an 8-7 record; they lost to Parkston 7-6 during the regular season. The Trojans take a 13-1 record into the game.
