PHOTO OF THE DAY: DEVASTATING ANNIVERSARY

This photo was posted by Swan Lake Christian Camp on its Facebook page on Sunday along with the following explanation.

Yesterday, June 7, 1965, marked 60 years since a 4 tornados came through the Turner County. One tornado came right over Swan Lake. Several of the camp cabins were swept into the lake. The board of directors met to determine the future of the camp. Should they continue or simply put a chain of the drive and close down. They decided to see how many people showed up at the camp to help with clean up and that would determine their answer. Praise God, many people came and the camp has continued to be a place for people to gather, make friends, and meet God.
We are so thankful for all those who continue to help continue the ministry of Swan Lake Christian Camp through giving of time, money and many prayers. The number of people that have had lives changed by this place we will never know. But we know that God (is) always at work even in the chaos.
