POST 152 SENIOR LEGION SPLITS IN VERMILLION

The Post 152 Senior Legion split a pair of games in Vermillion on Saturday, falling 10-5 to Post 206 out of Colton before taking down Post 1 of Vermillion 9-1.

Colton

In their game against Colton, the 79ers held a narrow 5-4 advantage after three innings, but Post 206 plated four in the fourth and five in the fifth while holding Post 152 scoreless the rest of the way. Four errors in the field and nine walks hurt the cause.

Evan Scharberg went 3-for-3 including a double and an RBI while Easton Miller went 2-for-3 including a double and two RBI. Riley Tschetter and a hit and an RBI while Kory Keppen and Sawyer Wipf both doubled.

Scharberg took the loss for the 79ers, giving up three hits and two earned runs while striking out three and walking five over three innings pitched.

Tschetter threw two innings for Post 152, allowing four earned runs on five hits while stricking out two and walking four. Tayden Kerrigan pitched one inning in relief.

Parkston

In a nice bounce-back game against Vermillion, the 79ers recorded 10 hits and played errorless ball, while starting pitcher Bryce Sattler held Post 1 to just three hits in six innings pitched. He struck out two and did not allow a walk.

Miller and a double and a triple and a team-leading four RBI, while Kerrigan had a single and a triple for two RBI.

Sattler, Scharberg and Tschetter also doubled.

The Post 152 Senior Legion team is now 5-5 and will host Salem in Freeman Tuesday night, June 24 at approximately 8 p.m. The Post 152 Junior Legion team (6-1) is also home on Tuesday against Irene-Wakonda, with first pitch set for 5:30 p.m.
