Judy McMahon, 81

Judy McMahon, age 81, of Menno, S.D., passed away peacefully on Sunday June 29, 2025 at the Menno-Olivet Care Center in Menno surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at the Salem Reformed Church in Menno with Rev. Michael Hecht officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in LaCrosse Wisconsin. Online condolences may be sent at www.okfhc.com. Livestreaming of Judy’s service can be view at https://server.attend.live/static/event/1wYDj. Opsahl-Kostel Memorial Chapel of Menno is assisting the family with arrangements.

Judy was born on August 31, 1943, in Beaver Dam, Wis., to Charles David and Violet Leone (Jones) Cramer. She grew up with her sister Sharon, dancing and enjoying music and spending her days swimming in Pewaukee Lake. It was during these formative years that her grandmother, an award-winning baker with Betty Crocker, taught Judy all her exceptional baking skills. Judy retired in 1992 after 12 years in management.

Judy moved to Milwaukee, Wis., where she married her first husband, Steve, and they were blessed with her two children, Denise and David. She later met her beloved husband, Wayne Martin McMahon, in Milwaukee, and they were united in marriage on May 24, 1995. In September 2006, Judy and Wayne moved from LaCrosse, Wis., to embrace the quiet charm of small-town living in Menno.

Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was known for her love of baking, generously sharing her delicious treats with family and friends. Her “famous dinner rolls” will live on as a cherished family legacy, lovingly passed down through generations. She found immense joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, with whom she loved playing games like Scrabble and Rummy. Known by her cherished nickname “Grandma Goofy,” she had a gift for humor, always telling jokes and brightening any space she entered.

A true fan of 50’s and 60’s music, Judy particularly loved Elvis Presley and dancing with her husband, Wayne. Her red hair matched her firecracker personality, always making people smile. Beyond her immediate family, Judy was a “bonus mom” to countless others, including her daughters’ friends, and held a special place in her heart for her best friend, Debbie. She was a woman of deep faith, always praising God for her many blessings and embracing the beautiful life He filled with love.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles David Cramer and Violet Leone Jones, and her sister, Sharon Czemierys (Gary).

She is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Martin McMahon; her children, Denise Braddock (Antonio) and David Aguirre; her stepchildren, Tara Steers, Tanya McMahon, and Thomas McMahon; her grandchildren, Mariah Braddock Schaut (Taylor), Alexandria Braddock (Joe), Isaiah Braddock; David Aguirre Junior, Ria Peterson, Aja Brey, Shawn Steers Junior, and Avery Steers; and nine great-grandchildren.
