MENNO AMATEUR GAME, FIREWORKS MOVED TO JULY 5

Menno’s Fourth of July baseball game between the Mad Frogs and Freeman — and the fireworks to follow — has been moved to Saturday, July 5 because of rain. First pitch is set for 7:30 p.m. Baseball personnel gathered on the infield of the Lily Pad made the decision at 7:38 p.m., as another round of heavier rain redeveloped. A wet field, safety of the players and the chance of more rain later in the evening ultimately led to the decision to postpone for 24 hours.

Among those making the decision were Menno’s Tom Sattler and Dylan Lehr; longtime Menno baseball enthusiast and the voice of the American Legion and amateur baseball, Galen Guthmiller; and Freeman Blacksox player/manager Jake Weier.
