BLACKSOX DISH UP ANOTHER BIG WIN; JUNIOR LEGION, TOO
The Blacksox are hot.

Post 152
A base hit by Tayden Kerrigan followed by an RBI single from Oliver Waltner were good enough for the Post 152 Junior Legion against Tabor Sunday afternoon, July 6, as the 79ers squeezed out a 1-0 win over Post 25 at Merchants State Bank Field in Freeman.
The victory was rooted in an outstanding pitching performance from Tannen Auch, who allowed just two hits while striking out nine in six innings pitched. Particularly early, Auch’s command was on point as his strike-to-ball ratio was better than 2-to-1; he finished with 80 pitches, 56 of which went for strikes.
Easton Tschetter pitched the final frame, striking out two.
Post 152 also saw a dialed-in defense, including a run-saving diving catch in rightfield by Riley Gall in the sixth inning. The 79ers did not commit an error.
In addition to Kerrigan and Waltner, Post 152 also saw a single from Izayah Ulmer.
The Junior Legion improved to 15-1 and has allowed just one run in their last four games.
On the Senior Legion side of the twin bill, Madison hurler JD Prorok shut down the 79ers, allowing just one hit in seven innings while striking out 13 without a walk.
In addition to Bryce Sattler, who singled, the only other Post 152 player to reach base was Luke Peters, who was hit by a pitch.
The loss dropped the 79ers Senior Legion to 9-7.
Sunday’s games were part of Freeman’s Independence Day celebration.
Post 152 is at Lennox Tuesday, July 8 and at Parkston the following night. Both games start with the Junior Legion at 6 p.m.
