PHOTO OF THE DAY: LIGHTING UP THE NIGHT
An active Monday night sky is pictured looking to the northwest from the edge of Freeman around 9 p.m. It was a stormy night across the eastern side of South Dakota and into neighboring states as a volatile system pushed east, bringing with it wind, hail and isolated tornadoes. While there was plenty of lighting and some thunder, the Freeman community was spared the worst of the disturbance, which hit further to the southwest and then through the far east and into Iowa.
