PHOTO OF THE DAY: FAIR APPROACH

The oldest and one of the most recognizable county fairs in the state — the Turner County Fair — begins today, Monday, Aug. 11. This was the scene in the morning as vendors and exhibitors were converging on Parker to set up for four days of crowds. Freeman Academy is among several local entities that staff food booths. Others include the Turner County Pork Producers and Salem Mennonite and Salem-Zion Mennonite churches.
