PHOTO OF THE DAY: LINK TO FELLOWSHIP
Freeman Academy constituents enjoy food and fellowship in The Link connecting Pioneer Hall and Sterling Hall Sunday evening, Aug. 17 — a precursor to the school’s traditional Opening Convocation that marks the start of another school year. For Freeman Academy — which begins the 2025-26 term on Wednesday — this marks 124th years since the 1901 founding of private, Christian-based educational center. The institution that opened as South Dakota Mennonite College began serving students in 1903, and the mission has continued through the 1986 closure of Freeman Junior College. Freeman Academy today serves students in grades 1-12, including a large international component.
Like Freeman Academy, the Menno School District begins its year on Wednesday while Freeman Public starts with a half-day tomorrow.
