David Walter goes up and gets a pass from Riley Tschetter to complete a two-point conversion in Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy’s dominating win over Bon Homme Friday night. The Class 9AA fourth-ranked Phoenix bounced back from a slow defensive start that resulted in an early Cavaliers’ touchdown by putting up 57 unanswered points to roll to a mercy-rule win in the third period. In addition to Walter’s two-point conversion haul, the Freeman High School sophomore caught a 69-yard bomb front Tschetter for a touchdown on the opening play of the third quarter.

FMFA is now 2-0 and will host a showdown with No. 1 Elkton-Lake Benton Friday night, Aug. 6 that is certain to draw widespread media attention.
