PHOTO OF THE DAY: COURSE OF ACTION

This was the scene at Valley View Golf Course a mile south of Freeman early Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 24 as runners — including Freeman’s Lane McCune, Luke Miller and Collin Randall — run south along the west edge of the 9-hole course in the Cornbelt Conference boys varsity race. McCune and the Flyers were team champions, as were the Freeman girls, and the conference meet also including junior varsity and junior high division. It was the third cross-county meet in three weeks: Freeman Academy hosted its invitational at the Prairie Arboretum Sept. 10 and the Flyer Invitational was held at the golf course Sept. 17.
