PHOTO OF THE DAY: SIDELINE VIEW

Dayna Peterson was back on the sidelines of her home court Thursday night, not as a Freeman Flyer, but as a Menno Wolf — the head coach, that is, of the volleyball team. And Peterson and Company almost stunned the Flyers, rallying from a 0-2 deficit to tie the match at 2-2 and force a fifth and decisive set. But Freeman put a stop to its rival’s momentum, returning to the form that helped them build an early lead and winning the final frame 15-4.

The Flyers improved to 11-4 while the Wolves dropped to 1-13.

Peterson was a standout in both volleyball and basketball for Freeman Public, graduating in 2009.
