PHOTO OF THE DAY: ON TOUR

Harley Plucker and Joline Thomas pause to enjoy a flower garden at the Freeman Prairie Arboretum. Plucker was among residents of both Freeman Regional Assisted Living and Freeman Nursing Home who took a ride around town on a beautiful Monday, riding golf carts provided by the city of Freeman and Valley View Golf Course. Freeman Mayor Michael Walter authorized the golf carts to travel on Freeman’s streets, and Rory Hermsen from the municipal golf course prepared the carts for Freeman Regional Health Services staff members serving as drivers. Popular stops included the arboretum, city parks, and school campuses.

“We appreciate the city and the golf course giving our residents a chance to enjoy the outdoors and see their community in this unique way,” said Mary Waltner from the activities staff at FRHS. “They loved it.”
