PHOTO OF THE DAY: LIGHTING UP THE NIGHT

With the burning “F” — and full moon — pictured behind them, the 2025 Freeman High School homecoming royalty court stands for a photo Monday night, Oct. 6. They are, from left: Tate Sorensen, Thor Aanenson, King Luke Peters, Queen Vaida Ammann, Sam Fransen and Aubrey Gamble. Monday night’s coronation ceremony kicked off a week of homecoming festivities in both Freeman and Menno, where Brockton Kocourek and Lexie McNinch were crowned royalty.

Homecoming activities culminate Friday with a 12:30 p.m. parade in Menno and 1 p.m. parade in Freeman, and football that night. Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy hosts Irene-Wakonda while Scotland/Menno hosts Avon.
