Students at Freeman Public weren’t the only ones to choose homecoming royalty on Monday night. In Menno, Brockton Kocourek and Lexie McNinch were crowned king and queen from a royalty court that also included Keyen Fischer, Brayden Kludt, Ella Rempfer and Madison Schaeffer.
Homecoming week has reached its midpoint in both Freeman and Menno, with the biggest activities yet to come. A powderpuff football game will be played in Menno Wednesday afternoon while male volleyball will be played on Thursday. Freeman is holding the Flyer-Phoenix Olympics Thursday morning with a pep rally and class skits that afternoon.
Homecoming parades are coming on Friday, with Menno’s beginning at 12:30 p.m. and Freeman’s at 1 p.m. Football that night includes Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy hosting Irene/Wakonda and Scotland/Menno facing Avon. Both games start at 7 p.m.
