A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Viborg, with burial at the Evergreen Cemetery. Dennis Earl Jacobson was born on Nov. 29, 1948, the youngest child to Floyd and Ruby (Fullwiler) Jacobson. He attended school at Hillyside #43 in Turner County and also Faith School at Hooker, S.D. Denny lived on the farm with his parents until they passed away and then he moved to Hurley, S.D., where he purchased a new trailer house and worked various jobs throughout the years. Six years ago he moved into an apartment in Viborg. One of his favorite pastimes was going to auction sales. He loved to collect model cars, trucks, horses and dog figurines. Before his passing he saw to it that each niece and nephew received a car or truck. He especially enjoyed family get-togethers. Grateful for having shared his life are his three sisters: Betty Ketter, Yankton, Donna (Jim) Bjornebo, Madison, S.D., and Doris (Marvin) Johnson, Freeman, S.D.; three sisters-in-law: Ethel Jacobson, Mary Ellen Jacobson and Carol Jacobson; many nieces, nephews and friends; also a very special friend, Shirley Deckert, Freeman, who was his case manager for many years; and his dog Gabby, who was a great companion. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Rhodora, seven brothers: George, Kenneth, Charles, Robert, Harold, William and Douglas; a nephew, Robert Jr., and a niece, Bonnie Walter.
