The couple had one son, Scott Fredric Rader, who was born in Akron, Ohio on May 26, 1960.
The Rader family moved to Riverside, Calif., where John worked in the radio ministry and Fern worked in nursing at Knollwood Hospital. In 1973 they moved to Bakersfield, Calif., where John continued in radio ministry and Fern worked at Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1994.
Fern accepted the Lord as her savior as a child of six or seven years and together Fern and John renewed their fellowship with the Lord in 1950.
They were always concerned about others and always spread the word of God and salvation of Jesus to everyone they came in contact with.
John went to be with the Lord on Aug. 29, 2017 at his home in Bakersfield. Fern was reunited with John and peacefully went to be with the Lord on the morning of April 21, 2018 at Oakview Terrace in Freeman, S.D.
