FREEMAN PUBLIC EXPELS TWO STUDENTS; SUSPENDS ANOTHER FOR 90 DAYS

Posted in:

Meeting in special session Friday night, May 18, the Freeman Public School Board unanimously voted to accept a recommendation from superintendent Kevin Kunz to expel two students and suspect a third for 90 days. The action came after meeting in closed session for nearly three hours.

The action of the board included stipulations that could allow the expelled students to re-enroll at Freeman Public if they meet certain requirements. Kunz said, should the students attend and complete a counseling program, attend summer classes and demonstrate progress, the board would consider reinstatement.

No other information — including the names of the students or the reason for the superintendent's recommendation to the board and subsequent board action — is being made public.
