Gall, Miller win re-election; new courthouse approved

Corey Gall and Mark Miller won re-election to the Freeman School Board over challenger Collin Waltner in the April 10 election. The breakdown of votes is as follows:

Gall: 295

Miller: 243

Waltner: 209

Of the 1,770 registered voters in the Freeman School District, 416 voted in Tuesday's election. 

Also in Tuesday's election, Hutchinson County voters overwhelming approved a new courthouse in Olivet.

The results are as follows:

  • Precinct No. 1 (city of Menno, town of Olivet, Capital, Sweet, Valley, Kassel and Molan townships): Yes – 328, No – 147
  • Precinct No. 2 (city of Freeman, Grandview and Silver Lake townships): Yes – 240, No – 134
  • Precinct No. 3 (Clayton, Pleasant and Wolf Creek townships): Yes – 28, No – 68
  • Precinct No. 4 (Town of Dimock, Cross Plains, Foster, Liberty, Milltown, Susquehanna and Starr townships): Yes – 164, No – 32
  • Precinct No. 5 (city of Parkston): Yes – 144, No – 62
  • Precinct No. 6 (City of Tripp, Fair, German, Kulm and Oak Hollow townships): Yes – 86, No – 107
  • Precinct No. 7 (Kaylor, Sharon and Wittenberg townships): Yes – 128, No – 32
  • Totals Yes – 1,118, No – 582
