PHOTO OF THE DAY: BETTY CROCKER WEEK SALE

Posted in:

Fifty years ago this week was “Betty Crocker Week Sale” at Jack & Jill in downtown Freeman — a grocery store located on property that today houses the southern portion of the Freeman Public Library. Jack & Jill later became Jerry’s IGA, which was destoryed by fire on Oct. 28, 1981. An empty lot remained until the library was built in 2009. This advertisement appeared in the Freeman Courier on Jan. 23, 1969 and is included with this week's edition of History.
