That's 4-year-old Winston Randall helping clear the sidewalk in front of his Freeman home following the massive blizzard of Thursday, April 11. The spring winter strom was expected — it had been in the forecast for a week — and it certanily delivered with impact. What started as rain on Wednesday turned to snow overnight and continued much of Thursday, with the heaviest coming in the afternoon, evening and overnight hours. High winds made the situation that much worse. The result was about 10 inches of heavy, wet snow in Freeman on top of an already saturated landscape. "If it's 10 inches, it's 10 inches too much," said Lance Edwards, who like many were out dealing with the mess Friday morning. Said Winston Randall dad, Dustin: "This is crazy."
