PHOTO OF THE DAY: ONCE UPON A TIME

Once upon a time, in the first half of the 20th century, this building stood at the northeast corner of Third and Main Street — directly across the street to the north of what is today the Et Cetera Shoppe. The business was established in 1901 by brothers John and Joseph Wipf. The property was eventually sold to Wilmer Fensen, who converted it into the Town House Cafe, which was destroyed by fire in 1971. Today the property is owned by AMPI.
