Ryno, left, and Andy Gibson — better known together as Dueling Duo — put heart, soul and enjoyment into their all-request piano show at the Freeman High School gym Saturday night, Sept. 29. The Sioux Falls-based team, along with Nebraska Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musician Dan Witte, who accompanies the duo on a variety of instruments, came to Freeman as part of a fundraiser for the FHS chorus department's 2019 music trip to Carnegie Hall in New York City. Dueling Duo played nonstop for 2 1/2 hours and took a host of written requests from the audience — along with cash for the donation bucket that goes toward the NYC trip. The performance featured a wide variety of songs and styles, from Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl" to Billy Joel's "Piano Man" to Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" to Imagine Dragons' "Thunder." More on Saturday's show will be included in the coming week's issue of the Courier.
