This was the scene near the corner of Third and Cherry streets Tuesday morning, Oct. 16, after a driver from Gregory's Foods caught a large limb of a sugar maple tree with the corner of his trailer while turning the corner and consequentally brought it down. That's according to Freeman Police Chief Kirk McCormick, who was on the scene and said the street the driver was turning onto — Third Street — is not a truck route. The tree limb fell between the semi and the trailer and appeared to have caused minimal damage. The incident happened around 8 a.m.; the semi was detached from the trailer before this photo was taken.
