This was the scene inside the Freeman Junior-Senior High School library after 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, as local election workers counted the ballots for both Freeman School Board and Precinct 2 of Hutchinson County for the special courthouse election. The county votes were hand-counted and then taken to Olivet for the official, countywide tally, while the school board ballots were counted and verified here by about 8:45 p.m. The county results were in shortly after 9 p.m. Corey Gall and Mark Miller won re-election over challenger Collin Waltner while the courthouse vote passed overwhelmingly, paving the way for a new building in Olivet.
