The sign says it all. As expected, the Freeman community is in the throes of a major winter storm Thursday, April 11 as snow and wind are pounding the region. Yesterday afternoon and evening saw rain, the overnight saw thunder, lighting, sleet and ice, and the winter weather of today is expected to last all day long. Freeman saw a power outage that lasted several hours Wednesday evening and the town has been without power since early this morning. Consequently, much of the community is shut down, including the schools, City Hall and Rural Medical Clinics.
