A win by Titus Roesler helped lead the Freeman Academy/Marion boys to first place in the varsity boys team standings at the Flyer Invitational hosted by Freeman Public at Valley View Golf Course Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 18. Roesler crossed the 5,000-meter course in 18:32.61 — more than 20 second ahead of the rest of the pack.
Thalen Schroeder and Tavin Schroeder finishes seventh and 11th for the Bearcats. Tim Epp was 18th in the field of 32 runners.
For Menno, Joe Grassmid was third and Kadeyn Ulmer finished sixth.
For the varsity girls, Jada Koerner led the field of local runners with a second-place finish. Menno’s Morgan Edelman and Ashton Massey were fourth and sixth, respectively; Freeman Public’s Isabel Sayler, Rylie Gossen and Erin Uecker went eighth, ninth and 23rd; FA/Marion’s Kristen Wieman placed 24th and Freeman Public’c Cara Maske was 27th.
The Freeman Pubic girls were second in the team standings.
There were 30 runners competing in the varsity girls field.
