At age 4, he and his family moved to California where Victor attended Head Start Furgeson Elementary and Artesia High School. At the end of his junior year, having spent three years in the California Cadet Corps and attaining the rank of Student Captain, he chose to take the GED tests and enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in the 82nd Ariborne at Ft. While in Texas he met and married Shirley Denise (Renton), who was serving in the National Guard. After training they moved to Ft. Ord, Calif. where their family grew as they were blessed with son, Craig, and daughters, Cassandra and Christina.

Vic was a stay-at-home dad while he and “Bambi” attended and graduated from National College in Sioux Falls, S.D., where they later moved and where the marriage sadly ended in divorce.

Victor and the children later moved to Washington, Mo., where he met and married his second wife, Mickey and gained a step-daughter, Kim. This marriage also ended in divorce.

Victor worked in the field of computers doing online repairs and then working as the coordinator of reports for the company reclaiming the Time Beach area which is now Maramec State park and Conservation Area in Pacific, Mo.

He met and married the love of his life, Carol (nee Bell), whom he was to lose to cancer after a short but happy life together. With Carol he gained more children: Shari Medlock (Pennsylvania), Staci McGraw (Missouri) and Kimberly Magnuson (Missouri).

Awaiting Victor in heaven are his father, Ronald Showers; step-father, William Millar; brothers: VanDee Showers and Vaughn Robin Showers with his wife Villa (nee Blake) and sister Valerie Renee Showers Millar; grandparents, H. Matilda (nee Palm) and Kenneth M.M. Ottinger; Rebecca Louise (Olive) (nee Rice) and Clarence G. Showers and Thelma (nee Rommereide) and Bernard (Barney) Millar.

Left to mourn are his mother, Adelia (Dee) Millar, Freeman; his brother, Vincent Showers; sister-in-law Michelle and their children of Sioux Falls; son, Craig and wife Chrystal Showers of Georgia; daughters Cassandra and Christina (and Chris) and step-daughters Shari, Stacy, Kimberly and Kim; grandchildren, Trenton, Valerie, Riley and Elliott Showers; Sydney McKeague, Hannah McKeague, Nicholas McGraw, Ciarra McGraw, Nathan McGraw and Joshua McGraw and his best friend John Freer, Sioux Falls.
