Tara Lynn Sheldon, age 46 of Yankton, S.D., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 13, 2023, at her home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 20 at the United Church of Christ (Congregational), Yankton, S.D., with Rev. Jacqueline Hickox-Morgan officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Avon, S.D. at approximately 2 p.m., Monday afternoon. Visitations will begin at 5 p.m., Sunday, Feb.

DeWayne Graber, 84, of Freeman, S.D., passed away on February 4 at the Oakview Terrace in Freeman. A funeral service was held Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Bethany Mennonite Church in Freeman. DeWayne Larry Graber was born on March 23, 1938, to Albert and Mabel (Gering) Graber. DeWayne and his siblings, Lawrence, Terry, and Sharon, all grew up in Freeman on the family farm.

Glenn Edward Schoppert age 90 formerly of Sioux Falls, S.D., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023, at Dells Nursing and Rehab Center in Dell Rapids, S.D. Glenn was born on Jan. 13, 1933, on his family’s farm near Freeman, S.D., to Edward and Louisa (Mutschelknaus) Schoppert. He was baptized on July 23, 1933, at his family church and confirmed on June 6, 1948, at the First Congregational Church in Scotland, S.D. He attended country school and graduated from Freeman High School in 1951.

DeWayne Graber, 84, of Freeman, S.D., passed away on Feb. 4 at Oakview Terrace in Freeman. A funeral service was scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. at Bethany Mennonite Church of Freeman. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.

Dominick Crandall, 24, of Freeman passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 24 at his residence in Freeman, S.D. A memorial service is pending for spring 2023.

=Gerald Michael Wollmann was born on Feb. 11, 1938, in Freeman, S.D., to Michael S. and Clara (Hofer) Wollmann. He had a younger sister, Lila Clara. The family moved to Bridgewater, S.D. in 1944 where Gerald attended school and graduated in 1956. Gerald met Vauneta Decker through mutual friends. They were married on Nov. 4, 1960, at Plum Creek Baptist Church near Emery, S.D. Gerald and Vauneta were blessed with three children: Sheila Rae, Gail Lynn and Merlin Wayne.

David Rolf Olson died peacefully at home on Jan. 3, 2023, at the age of 88. He was born at Moe Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. on June 7, 1934, to Clifford and Berna (Holland) Olson. He attended Lowell Elementary School and Washington High School in Sioux Falls and graduated from Augustana College in 1956. After graduation from Augustana, he taught a year of English and music at Humboldt High School.  He then worked at the Sioux Falls Public Library for several years. 

Calvin R. Hofer, 83, passed away unexpectedly at his farm in rural Marion. A private family committal service will be held at the Hutterthal Mennonite Church Cemetery. A memorial service at the Hutterthal Mennonite Church will be held at a later date.  

Evelyn Hageman, 91, of Freeman, S.D., passed away on Jan. 4 at Oakview Terrace in Freeman. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 at Walter's Funeral Home in Freeman with burial to follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.   

Donna (Mettler) Sutfin was born May 20, 1956 in Scotland, S.D. to Herbert & Lorraine Mettler. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Reformed Church, Menno, S.D.
