Larry Huber, age 68, of Yankton, S.D., passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton. A service was held Wednesday, April 4 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Yankton, with Rev. Dave Gunderson officiating. Burial was in the Garden of Memories, Yankton, with Military grave side rites by the Ernest-Bowyer VFW Post #791 Honor Guard and the United States Navy Honor Guard. Larry was born to Bert and Helen (Schoppert) Huber on May 14, 1949 in Freeman, S.D. Larry attended Huber Country School, St. Paul Lutheran School and Freeman Public High School.
Larry served in Vietnam as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1970. He remained in the reserves until 1989.
Larry was a masonry contractor in Sioux Falls, S.D., until a back injury forced him to leave the business. He moved to Yankton, and started a rental property business. Larry married Judy Cokeley on June 26, 1987 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Freeman.
Larry is survived by his children: Lisa of Omaha, Neb., Matt (Kerri) of Yankton, Kelly (CJ) Groetken of Bloomington, Ill., and Dennis Cokeley of Huntington Beach, Calif.; brother Lonnie (Merry) Huber of Yankton; seven grandchildren and a nephew.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents and an infant child.
