Delore L. Tschetter, age 91, died on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Sanford Hospice Foundation Cottage in Sioux Falls, S.D.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, July 7 at George Boom Funeral Home & Crematory in Sioux Falls, with burial to follow at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Sioux Falls. His family will be present to greet friends for visitation from 12 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, at George Boom Funeral Home & Crematory.
Delore Lincoln Tschetter was born on Aug. 31, 1926 near Bridgewater, S.D., to the late Joseph and Kathryn (Hofer) Tschetter. He graduated from Freeman High School. Delore was united in marriage with Anita Semmler in Delmont, S.D. on April 8, 1951. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls in 1961.
Delore worked at Huber Motors in Freeman, S.D. for 14 years. After moving to Sioux Falls, he was employed at International Harvester for 22 years. After retiring in 1982, he kept busy with part-time jobs at Sears, Montgomery Wards and Bally’s Aladdin Castle. His hobbies included fishing, playing games, cards, and putting puzzles together. He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls.
Grateful for having shared his life are his daughter, Dianne Card of Laguna Beach, Calif.; one grandson, Nicholas Card and his wife Sara (Phaler) Card of Aliso Viejo, Calif.; and a host of additional relatives and friends.
Delore was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Kathryn Tschetter; wife of 67 years, Anita (Semmler) Tschetter, who died on Feb. 13, 2018; one son, Steven Tschetter; and nine siblings.
