This was the scene at the deep end of the Freeman Swimming Pool Saturday morning, July 21, as the age 9-11 division of the Freeman Triathlon gets ready to start. It was the biggest triathlon in its four years, with more than 50 from the community swimming, biking and running for fun — and for a good cause. All proceeds from the 2018 event will go toward the Freeman High School chorus trip to NYC planned for next year. In addition to the triathlon, an all-ages 5K run/walk was held, as well as a picnic meal provided by Modern Woodmen, a financial support of the Freeman Triathlon. The Freeman Triathlon was founded and is organized by Freeman teenagers Mara Andersen and Emmarie Edwards.
