This was South Dakota Mennonite College in its earliest days of existance. The buiding opened to students in 1903 and has continued to serve the school in one way or another ever since.
Once upon a time, in the first half of the 20th century, this building stood at the northeast corner of Third and Main Street — directly across the street to the north of what is today the Et Cetera Shoppe.

Charles D. Larsen, 70, of Freeman, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 7 in Sioux City. Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church of Menno.
