Organizers of the South Dakota Chislic Festival have announced that the second annual event celebrating the official state “nosh” and popular traditional food will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019.
Craig Walters, 60, of Harrisburg, S.D. and formerly of Freeman, S.D., passed away Monday, Aug. 6. A service will be held Friday, Aug. 10 at 2 p.m. at Walter Funeral Home in Freeman.
The public is invited to watch the Canistota/Freeman Pride football team practice Saturday morning, Aug. 11 starting at 10 a.m. in Canistota. A meal will follow.
Freeman youngsters have fun on the slide at the swimming pool Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 7. This is the final week of swimming for the 2018 season; the pool is set to close at the end of the day Sunday, Aug. 12.
The room was quiet Tuesday morning, Aug. 14, but action will pick up in the afternoon as driver license renewals return to the Freeman Public Library.
