Eldon Berg was welcomed to his heavenly home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sept. 1, 2021, at the age of 84. He was a resident of Tieszen Memorial Home, Marion, S.D., when he passed.

Arlan Miller, 81 of Freeman, passed away on Aug. 30 at his home in Freeman under hospice care. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 4 at 10:30 a.m. at the Salem Mennonite (South) Church of rural Freeman. Visitation and viewing will be Friday at the church from 5 to 7 p.m.

Allen Schrag, 96, of Marion, S.D., passed away on Aug. 18 at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the Salem Zion Mennonite Church of rural Freeman. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service and will continue after the service on Tuesday at the church. OBITUARY Allen Schrag was born on Sept. 20, 1924 to Rev. John and Katie (Miller) Schrag and raised on the family farm south of Marion, S.D. He was the eighth of nine children.

Kevin Leber, 58 of Parker, S.D., passed away on Aug. 11, 2021 at the Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls, S.D. Mass of Christina Burial was held Monday, Aug. 16 at St. Christina’s Catholic Church, Parker.

Lucas “Luke” Kruger, 42, of Freeman, S.D., passed away on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021 at Sanford USD Medical Center after injuries he sustained in a car accident.

Darlene Kaufman, 90 of Marion, S.D., passed away on Aug. 9, 2021 at the Tieszen Memorial Home, Marion. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 13 at the Bethesda Church, rural Marion. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12 at the church. Having inspired with her enduring spirit, Darlene Kaufman passed on August 9, 2021.

Virginia Graber, 97, of Freeman passed away on August 9th at Oakview Terrace in Freeman. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, Aug. 14 at Salem-Zion Mennonite Church at 10:30 a.m. with visiting time with family at 9:30 a.m. and after the service. 

Bruce E. Preheim, 73, of Vermillion, S.D., left this life for his next Grand Adventure on Saturday, August 7, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones. Bruce Elliot Preheim was born in 1948 in Marion, S.D., to Herb and Marguerite Preheim. He was the oldest, along with his twin brother, of four siblings. Bruce graduated from Marion High School in 1966. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of South Dakota, and graduate degrees in art from the University of West Virginia and from the University of South Dakota.

Randy Garry, 62 of Dolton, S.D., passed away on July 26, 2021 at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion, S.D., after a lengthy illness. A memorial service was held Wednesday, August 4 at Zion Lutheran Church, Bridgewater, S.D.

Conrad Buse, 87 of Marion, S.D., died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021 at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion. A memorial service was held Monday, Aug. 9 at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Marion with burial with military honors at the Greenwood Cemetery, Marion.
