Dr Scott Richmond Plath, age 68, passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his family, Friday, May 20, 2022. A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 24 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Yankton, S.D. Scott was born Aug. 27, 1953 in Yankton to Dr CJ “Corky” and Grace (Richmond) Plath. He grew up in Yankton and had an eventful childhood. Scott had open-heart surgery at five years old. He spent the rest of his life “testing” his guardian angels.

Elsie Irene Auch, fondly known as Irene, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Sister James Care Center in Yankton, S.D. She was 91 years old. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 28 at Goglin Funeral Home in Yankton. Inurnment will take place at 4 p.m. at Rosehill Cemetery, Scotland, S.D. 

Alvin T. “Tim” Schaeffer, age 54, of Watertown, S.D., passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at the local hospital. A memorial service was held Saturday, May 14 at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown, with Pastor Jeff Ruggles officiating. Burial was at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Urn bearers were Allison Schmidt, Seth Miles, Ralph Riggert and Warrin Krull.

Marvin David Glanzer, 79, of Woodstock, Ga., passed away Friday May 6, 2022 at his residence following a period of declining health.

Donald (Don) Dale Miller, 89 passed away on Nov. 3, 2021 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, S.D. He was born on a farm west of Freeman, S.D., on Aug. 11, 1932 to Leona (Graber) and Marion Miller. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, May 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the Meridian Bridge at Riverside Park in Yankton.

David Stahl David Lee Stahl was born Oct. 3, 1956 in Freeman, S.D. He died at his home on April 25, 2022 having reached 65 years of age. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob (Jack) Stahl and Anna Stahl; his brother, Kenneth J. Stahl; and brother-in-law, Kenneth L. Meisenheimer. 

Joseph Senyak, 79, of Gettysburg, S.D., passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Avera Oahe Manor in Gettysburg, S.D.  A funeral was held April 26 at the United Methodist Church, Gettysburg, with Pastor Jeff Adel officiating. Burial was in the Gettysburg Cemetery, with military honors. Joseph Senyak was born Oct. 13, 1942 to Peter and Anna (Stempak) Senyak at Lehigh County, Pa. He graduated from Whitehall High School in Whitehall, Pa.

Robert “Bob” Reilly, 82, of Sioux Falls, S.D. passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at his home with family members at his side. Services were held on April 22 at Miller Funeral Home, Sioux Falls. Robert Francis Reilly, son of Ambrose and Agnes (Clercx) Reilly, was born August 30, 1939 in Larchwood, Iowa. He grew up there and graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School. He enlisted in the South Dakota Air National Guard and did his basic training in San Antonio, Texas. After six years of service, he was honorably discharged.

Barbara (Mehlhaff) Rempfer, 66, of Freeman, S.D., passed away on April 25, 2022 at Freeman Medical Center surrounded by family. A private family services will be held. Barbara was born March 18, 1956 to Marvin and Hildegard (Fischer) Mehlhaff. On April 5, 1974 she was united in marriage with David Rempfer. The two were married for 48 years and were blessed with three children: Joshua, Nicole and Jacob.

Arden Henry Dewald was born April 15, 1934 to Arnold and Leontine (Schmitt) Dewald in Sioux Falls, S.D. He died one week after his 88th birthday on April 22, 2022. He was baptized on May 13, 1934 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Freeman, S.D. He was raised in Freeman.
