Delmar D. Wipf: 1941-2020
Delmar D. Wipf passed from this life on Oct. 26, 2020, at the age of 78 years, in Springfield, Mo. He was born on Nov. 8, 1941, on the farm near Freeman, S.D., to Paul K. Wipf and Justina P. (Hofer) Wipf. Delmar was a teacher of physics and chemistry in Kansas City and at Southwest Missouri State University/ Greenwood Lab School for 30 years.

Elsie Schmidt: 1929-2020
Elsie Schmidt, 91, of Marion, S.D., passed away on Oct. 29, 2020 at the Freeman hospital. A funeral service will be Tuesday, Nov. 3 at the Salem Zion Mennonite Church of rural Freeman with visitation beginning at 12 p.m. on Tuesday at the church prior to the service. The family asks that masks be worn and COVID-19 guidelines be observed.

The milder conditions of Wednesday did a good job melting the snow that had remained since it came later Saturday and into Sunday. It's cold again today, but a major warmup is coming. Highs next week are expected to be in the 60s.
