Gary Gullickson: 1944-2021
On March 12, 2021 Gary Ole Gullickson, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and son passed away from complications of Parkinson’s disease. Gary was born on June 22, 1944 in Freeman, S.D. to Della (Graber) and Walter Gullickson. His childhood years were spent on the family farm, working alongside his parents. He attended Our Town School District #97, a one-room school in Turner County and was the only student in his grade for eight years. He often spoke of fond memories of life on the farm and the many fishing trips he took with family.

Jim Woehl 1958-2021
Jimmy “Jim” Otto Woehl, age 62 of Menno, S.D., passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 15, 2021 surrounded by family. Jim was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme on May 22, 2020. After undergoing radiation and chemotherapy treatments, he was placed on home hospice care on Dec. 21, 2020. A funeral service was held Saturday, March 20 at Peace Christian Reformed church, Menno, with Rev. Michael Hecht and Pastor Jack Gray officiating. Betty Steffen age 87 of Menno, S.D., peacefully passed away Friday, Feb. 26, 2021 at the Oakview Terrace nursing home, Freeman, S.D. Betty was born Jan. 12, 1934 in Springfield, S.D. to Pete and Florence (Stark) Johnson. Betty married Kleo Steffen Aug. 2,1952. They had a dairy farm north of Olivet, S.D. Betty helped with the daily operations of the farm, gardened, painted the farm buildings and made beautiful quilts for herself and her family. Some even sold or were donated to charity.
